TBN: The Vehicle for the Gospel!

Don’t let the title of this blog post fool you. I don’t believe for a second the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) is a vehicle of the gospel.

A friend of mine told me this the other day when I complained to him that nearly every preacher I have heard in Ohio speaks the same nonsense that you can hear twenty four hours a day on TBN. He claimed that I listen to all the wrong preachers.

He has no idea I gave five years of my life attempting to thwart their doctrines of devils through this blog. That I finally gave up because I was sick of these saintly people attempting to destroy me professionally, personally and financially.

He also has no idea that every false doctrine you can hear on TBN has been examined biblically and found wanting on this site.

Here we go again.

Let’s just say for the sake of argument that my friend is correct when he says that TBN is a vehicle for the Gospel. Let’s also say that my friend in as much admitted that I’m listening to all the wrong preachers. Logic follows that this vehicle (TBN) must then contain some false teachers and some good teachers of the Gospel.

Here’s the Gospel;

1 Corinthians 15:1-4

Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,

I’m not suggesting that you watch TBN but look at this schedule for today January 7, 2015 and you tell me which teacher is going to preach the Gospel?

The Billy Graham Crusade should be ok and Greg Laurie is on at 10pm and if we are really lucky Franklin Graham might be alright but outside that all there is are flesh peddlers.

So, in twenty four hours of programming today we can get our flesh satisfied a hundred ways from Sunday and our spirit filled maybe one hour in a half and that’s if we are lucky.

That doesn’t sound like much of a vehicle for the gospel does it? It sounds more like the spare tire to me.

This weeks Calvin’s Corner was really interesting. Michael and I talked about the Reformed view of Baptism and we also discussed how we thought Martin Luther and John Calvin would respond to TBN and more importantly those who support it financially.

Apology Regarding Full Preterism

I’m sure most of you reading this are familiar with Mr. Jason Bradfield. He comments here from time to time but many of us will always remember his very vocal defense of Full/Hyper Preterism. Since that time Jason has left the heresy of Full/Hyper Preterism and has been speaking out about it. The following video is a must see and after watching this video please visit here (not you weirdo stalker) and give my friend a few words of encouragement.

Who Cares What Rob Bell Thinks About Hell, or Anything Else For That Matter

I don’t know about you but I’m sick  and tired of the bloggers talking about Rob Bell and his new book Love Wins. The book isn’t even out yet but that hasn’t stopped silly people from commenting on and in some cases reviewing a book they haven’t even read.

Who cares what Rob Bell thinks about hell or anything else for that matter?

The Shrinking New Testament by Boyd Miller

As the charismatic madness has swept the world and infected all the churches, the New Testament has shrunk to only 22 books. Today’s church worshippers begin with the book of Acts and totally ignore the teachings of Jesus in the first four books. The modern mega-church sermon is more interested in the accomplishments and wealth of a few Old Testament prophets than the words uttered by Jesus. Of course one could hardly expect an honest presentation of Matt. 6 from a man or woman adorned in a $1500 garment standing on a raised platform surrounded by body guards proclaiming their “anointing” and spiritual gifts.

The average charismoron is more acquainted with Malachi 3(which wasn’t written to them) than Matthew 5 and 6(which was). Sad!

Cyber Stalker Alert!!!! Roderick Edwards

Cyber Stalker Roderick Edwards of Whiteland Indiana

Roderick is stalking folks once again but this time he’s gone too far. As I stated on this podcast the only way to stop these types of  individuals is to report them to their local authorities. This was done this morning.

Edwards has a lengthy history of such anti-social behavior and as recently as this week has stalked and spammed my friends at Reign of Christ and Michael Loomis. Prior to that he stalked and spammed Dee Dee Warren as well as many others. Continue reading

What is a Heretic and How Do We Deal With These People?

We hear the word “heretic” brought up quite a bit these days. Sometimes folks using this word don’t really know what the definition of the word is or even how to use it. More importantly some who use this term have failed to listen to this clear statement on how to deal with heretics from Paul to Titus; Continue reading
