Joel Osteen States Homosexuality is a Sin!

Recently Joel Osteen appeared as a guest of Piers Morgan on Morgan’s program Piers Morgan Tonight. Morgan asked Osteen how he viewed homosexuality……below is how he answered.

I’m glad he stood up but more importantly I’m glad he included other sins as well. The bible is crystal clear that homosexuality isn’t the only thing that will keep us out of God’s Kingdom. Those sins are;

1Corinthians 6:9-10
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

That’s a hefty list huh?

Joel Osteen has a LONG way to go but I’m always happy to see celebrity preachers stand up for the truth……even if it’s the ONLY time they ever do it…..

  1. It’s amazing how many ‘teahers of the Word’ think that contending for the faith means to roll the Bible up into a bludgeon with which to beat people over the head.Sadly such people feel they need to be very contentious in contending for the faith (so much so that they write off the command to love even our enemies).But this is far from what Jude had in mind at all. What he had in mind was the need for proclaiming the truth in love just as the other apostles like John or Paul.

    As Charles Spurgeon used to put it: “The truth is like a lion. Whoever heard of defending a lion? Just turn it loose and it will defend itself.” This is the way the word of God is. If we begin to proclaim it, it will defend itself.

  2. I just watched it last night, and I was surprised to hear him say that! I wish that he’d had a better response to Morgan about what Elton John would say, though.

    And the bit about disciplining children bothered me, too. But I think Osteen has been listening to his critics and — painfully, it appears — taking somewhat of a stand.
