Friday’s Front Row!!

This week’s Friday’s Front Row is filled with MLB Baseball, NCAA Football, the NFL and great NBA action.

The San Francisco Giants travel to Texas to face the Rangers in games 3, 4 and possibly game 5 of the World Series. The Giants have pounded the Rangers in games 1 and 2 and if this continues the Giants will be returning to ‘Frisco Sunday night World Series Champs. Game 3 is slated for Saturday and game 4 is Sunday.

In NCAA college football the #5Michigan State Spartans travel to Iowa to face the #17 Hawkeyes in an exciting Big Ten matchup. A win Saturday could wrap up the Big Ten championship for the Spartans but the way things have gone this year I see the Hawkeyes pulling off an upset!

#6 Missouri travels to Nebraska to play the #14 Cornhuskers for what should wrap up the Big 12 Conference title for the Tigers! Take the Tigers my friends!

In the NFL the New York Jets play host to the Green Bay Packers. The Jets are on a roll winning their last 5 ballgames and Sunday they will make it 6 with a blow out over the Packers!

On Friday night the New York Rangers host the Carolina Hurricanes and travel to play the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night. Look for the Blueshirts to win both games this weekend!

In NBA action there are two games Friday night I like a LOT. The Orlando Magic travel to Miami to play the Heat while the LA Lakers head out to Phoenix for a game with the Suns. Take the Lakers and the Magic folks!

Have a great weekend!

  1. Hey Phil,

Do you think Cody Ross is the next Mr. October or another Bernie Carbo? I am enjoying the fact that the two big market teams are gone. Looks like the Mets made a good hire on the GM position. Go Mizzou!

    • Hi,

I don’t think he’ll be another Reggie and I hope he doesn’t wind up like Carbo……after baseball he became a hairdresser of all things:-). Currently he is clean, sober and heads up his own ministry or so I heard…..

Alderson is a good GM but how he will get along with the Wilpons is the question. Look for one of the core stars for the Mets to go this winter (my bet is Reyes) and look for the Mets to hire Wally Backman as manager in the next couple of days……and I’ll bet you a dime Backman is STILL the best 2nd baseman in the organization.

      Go Mizzou is right!

      Thanks,

      Phil

  2. Ditto’s on Backman. If you eliminate NY’s Cano it’s hard to name a real outstanding second baseman.

  3. Hi,

What about Rikie Weeks from Milwaukee? I wouldn’t be upset to see him in a Met uniform next year!

Too bad about Mizzou…..the road dawgs seem to be the play this year…….and what about Iowa destroying MSU?

The Rangers upped the ante tonight with an impressive win……I still like the Giants in six as their pitching staff is incredible….
