I can’t believe that people are flocking to this so-called Florida Healing Outpouring and claiming this flesh based “revival” is Holy Spirit inspired. Todd Bentley is a false teacher prophet and dreamer of dreams and visions and someone with even a miniscule amount of discernment can see this yet still they flock to him like ants at a picnic. Well, I can believe it because the sheep are infected with a disease called The Silly Sheeple Syndrome.
The Silly Sheeple Syndrome is a disease that takes away reason and common sense and allows for the sheep to be taken advantage of physically mentally spiritually and financially. This disease is widespread and not limited to those flocking to Lakeland seeking signs and wonders…..The Silly Sheeple Syndrome can be seen in every denomination and in every area within what’s commonly referred to as the Body of Christ. Here are some examples of the Silly Sheeple Syndrome;
Suppose you are at work and a co-worker claims to have visited heaven and met the Apostle Paul. This co-worker further claims to have discovered a “treasury room” while in heaven and fills his pockets with gold coins…with God’s permission. He admits to you that he not only sees but also converses with “angels”. What would be your first reaction to what you’ve just heard? You’d think he’s bumped his head wouldn’t you? Maybe he’s drunk or on drugs? Possibly he’s stopped taking his medication?
What would you think of a married man who claims God told him he could have another mans wife as his own…just for the asking? What if this man was the “pastor” of your church who preached God’s Word while drunk….cursing like a sailor and making death threats against others who defy him from behind the pulpit? Common sense tells you to run from this man as fast as you can, wouldn’t it?
What would you think if a twice divorced woman wanted to be your “life coach”? What if this woman told you “you’re all that” and God’s perfect creation yet has had plastic surgery because she wasn’t “all that”? What if this woman, while claiming to be a “Christian pastor” tells you that Jesus wasn’t God’s only begotten son? You’d think this woman was crazy, wouldn’t you? Come on now….be honest with yourselves here!!
What if you went to your “pastor” for counseling and he told you to take your pants down so he could paddle you? What if he sodomized you and raped you and told you that God told him to do those heinous things to you? Would you go back to this “pastor” for further counseling sessions or would you call the police? Common sense tells you something’s wrong but still dozens went back to this “pastor”.
The four examples above should never occur within the Body of Christ….but those stricken by the Silly Sheeple Syndrome don’t seem to know any better….and keep the scoundrels in business. They sick “revival” “healing” “financial prosperity” and apparently leave their common sense at the door….and get abused by devils pretending to be angels of light.
There is a cure for the Silly Sheeple Syndrome…and it isn’t some false revival or buying some book or letting some fool verbally and physically abuse you….no, this cure takes more then that and it costs more then what the wolves are saying and selling.
Ready?
We need a reformation. We need a Martin Luther or someone like him to nail a new version of the 95 Theses on the Wittenberg Door. We need to actually study our bibles for ourselves and try and test every spirit to see if what they teach and say aligns with God’s Word. We need to fall on our faces and beg God to forgive and heal us of the Silly Sheeple Syndrome…and expose those who infect us with the Silly Sheeple Syndrome. We need to discover who God really is and what Jesus really did for us during His brief time on earth.
We need to stop listening to those who get “saved on Sunday and start preaching on Monday” and disciple those who Holy Spirit regenerates just like Jesus did with the twelve he chose. We need to stop “witnessing” to others until our lives line up with what we say we are….and stop listening to those whose lives are the same as they were before they claimed to have “accepted” Christ. We need to check ourselves before we wreck our witness…and we need to take a strong stand when we see hypocrisy in those who claim to be a Christian.
We need to stop looking for “moves of God” and start being those moves of God and reach those afflicted with the Silly Sheeple Syndrome one sheeple at a time. We need to stop looking for “signs and wonders” and become those signs and wonders so the unsaved say AHHH…..I want what you have….and we need to BEGIN TODAY!
The cure for the Silly Sheeple Syndrome isn’t easy….in fact it will be the most difficult thing you will ever do in your life. I guess that’s why Jesus said the road is narrow and few find it….and why the broad road is so full.

What a great article. This really puts things in perspective.
How is it some have different weights and measures when they view these issues? If an unbeliever did these things, we would have them ostracized from the community, but because they claim to be believers, so many lose the ability to judge with righteous judgment and want to embrace them as brothers and sisters.
All I can say is people need to be in study and searching scriptures so they understand their Biblical obligations in these matters. Right now, many of them are partaking of these sins by embracing these people. That’s not a good place to be. God is NOT mocked.
Phil: Yep, add in “Christian” and you can get away with just about anything….which was the point of the first part…and I knew you’d get it straight off!!

Put the name Christian on your resume and you have an instant license to sin without repentance. You can even pass go and collect $200…or more. Name your price….and the sheeple will pay it.
I know one thing. God’s wrath is fearful to behold and I certainly don’t want to stand before the throne of God after violating His orders in these matters. Maybe others are brazen enough to do so, but not me. Also, ignorance of God’s laws will not hold up in court. I certainly hope people are getting this.
If they will take a careful look at the section of Acts and the discussion between Peter and Simon in chapter 8 verse 22. From Peter’s tone, he wasn’t sure Simon would even qualify for forgiveness. That’s pretty scarey to think about.

I’d like to add that this syndrome is (in my opinion) mostly experienced by false converts who have gone through the “5 Steps to Peace with God” evangelism tract and said a little prayer to invite Jesus (who was standing knocking at the door to their heart, UGH!) into their lives without first realizing how sinful they are and truly appreciating the propitiation made by Christ on the cross.
Phil: Hi Isaiah! Well said…..and so very true! The “seeker friendly” churches are guilty of the same….very sad indeed! I’ll bet they’ll bring up these “tracts” the day they face the Lord….right before He says “depart from me for I never knew you”.
Modern evangelism methods have led to many false converts who fall away and/or fall for such trickery at the drop of a pin. Worse yet, many who have stayed on in churches have become leaders — a sad case of the blind leading more of the blind into the abyss.
Its painfull to see intelligent people (maybe) follow these false teachers.
They search out and question the best colleges, inquire about employers benefits and pay, when looking for some one to date and marry they’ll ask them questions, get a friends advice, even a background check. But the moment they see a self-proclaimed man of gawd all wisdom is thrown out the door.
Whatever crazy statements are spoken, or shameful acts have been committed, or nutty action they do in the name of the Lord. The shepple accept it as truth with out so much as a second look in the Bible to see if it Gods truth or some mans flawed truth.
I am actually listening to Todd Bentley now, LOL! Oh dear, how can people actually believe this rubbish?! He talked about how he dealt with a demon in his house, and this huge tube came out of heaven like a vacuum cleaner to suck the demon away. I don’t know about those folks who believe it, but it sure sounds like some Marvel comic or whatever…
On the other hand, it’s sad to be observing the chat room because there are so many Christians with problems who are not opting to totally trust in the Lord but look for such ‘revivals’.
I want to cry…
I think I feel sick to my stomache / heart after reading your report … I know the church at large is contaminated (tares sown amongst the wheat) BUT Oh the heinous things that are being done to the sheep or sheeple as you say, in the name of JESUS is an abomination to the LORD!! It also makes me weep … We must earnestly contend / defend the TRUTH of GOD’s Word as the book of Jude warns and exhorts us!

Bentley is always referring to William Branham.
A little info on doctrines taught by ol’ Billy B…
TRINITY: Branham denied the Trinity, teaching a form of Modalism. Instead of three Persons in the Godhead, Branham taught that there was only one Person (Jesus) going under different titles or modes at various times in history. Branham’s teaching is a variation of a second century heresy taught by Sabellius know as Modalistic Monarchianism or Patripassianism.
BAPTISM: Branham claimed that proper baptism was needed to avoid the “Mark of the Beast” of denominational churches and escape the danger of missing the rapture and entering the Tribulation.
Serpent’s Seed: Branham taught that Eve’s sin in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3) was sexual in nature. According to Branham, Eve was seduced into a sexual relationship with the serpent and became pregnant with Cain. He explained, “Here is what actually happened in the Garden of Eden. The Word says that Eve was beguiled by the serpent. She was actually seduced by the serpent. He was as close to being a human that his seed could, and did mingle with that of the woman and cause her to conceive” The serpent’s seed was Cain and all his descendants. They are predestined for Hell. The Godly seed is Seth and his descendants who have been revealed by their call to Branham’s ministry. A third group, represented by those still in denominational churches have free will to choose Heaven or Hell. The Godly seed are the Bride of Christ and will be raptured before Tribulation. Denominations are or eventually will be the Mark of the Beast and those who remain therein will go through the Tribulation.
William Branham’s teachings are clear, clear heresy.
The same way people flocked to hear this man’s “encounters” and “experiances” in the 50′s & 60′s. now they are doing with Bentley.
It is sad that people [including my Dad who flies out tomorrow] are flocking to see a heretic fleece the flock. I also see frightening parallels between Mr. Branham’s doctrine and what goes on in these New Apostolic Reformation circles

Hey Phil. I find it most interesting how the very doctrines of Branham’s movement have a carbon copy among these guys. May I suggest an MP3 by Roger Oakland, where he covers the links between what happened in Toronto [of which Bentley's "ministry" is an extension] and guys like Branham and Franklin Hall? Your prayers for Dad are much appreciated – I have this feeling, he’ll come back hoping to spread this heresy like wildfire.
BTW I start a Greek course using some material by Bill Mounce in July after my exams, which will be cool. Somewhat tasking but cool nonetheless

I have family in this mess also, so I can certainly relate to the wanting to spread the heresy comment. I’ll add your dad to my prayer list.
I live about an hour out of Lakeland and I’ve watched some of these proceedings by webcast and no, I haven’t been tempted to make the drive to see it first hand. Frankly, living an hour away is too close for me. I am not into the hyper-emotionalism. I’m quite old fashioned so I want a good solid sermon based on scripture that is edifying and puts the fear of God in people.
If we would get back to that, then this viper they’re promoting wouldn’t be out sunning himself. Enough of this shallow religious teaching going on today. It’s time for the hard stuff.

Signs and wonders – a desire unlike any other to study God’s word, to know everything about Him….and to have scripture reveal Him. To find after 8 years that the desire has not abated. To so fall in love with Him and all his characteristics and attributes that no one or nothing can take forefront in your mind. To be willing to lay down your life and your desires and your experiences, to serve Him.
Now THAT’S a wonderful thing. Everyone I know that it’s happened to says there is nothing that can compare. I can attest to that also. It is a joy of the highest magnitude with a foundation In Christ and on Truth.

It’s been proven that Bentley’s “revival” is faux. His marriage is falling apart. This counsel /work has been of men, and it has come to nought.
