I have people saying that Todd is not making any altar calls, that he isn't preaching repentance, etc. Which is not the case, he has every night made an altar call, he has told people repeatedly that if their life is not right with Jesus that it's all for nothing.

As to the fact that Todd has tattoos, I will admit that as far as I'm concerned the jury is still out. All I know is that the apostles offended the religious elite by eating without washing their hands, sitting at the same table as Gentiles and eating their food, etc. They were an offense to established religion, but everywhere they went they healed the sick, cleansed the leper, and raised the dead.

Todd asked a question the other night: How many people have you seen saved this week? How many sick people have you seen set free from the oppression of the devil? If you are going to cry "red flags", fine. But don't be guilty of what Jesus said about the Pharisees "You refuse to enter in and you bar the way for others". If you are going to say "don't go there", what other option do you give a world that is sick and dying of not only sin, but of disease? The world is sick and tired of words, they want action. If you say "Jesus" people say "Don't even talk to me", but if you get them healed of their disease, and then say "Jesus healed you" they want to give their life to Jesus.

So what pratical solution do you give if what is going on in Lakeland, London, Albany (Oregan), North Carolina, Kansas City, etc is not from God.

P.S. I have no connection to Todd Bentley, Fresh Fire, Ignited Church or Stephen Strader.

Phil: What are the people repenting of Adam? I haven't heard sin or the results of sin (death) being preached at all....

Good day, I am the webmaster for http://www.floridaoutpouring.com, so one could say that I have a biased opinion. But I want to ask one simple question: Why would the devil make people fall more in love with Jesus, give up their ungodly, addictive lifestyles to live a life of holiness? There isn't a night that goes by that Todd doesn't say "It's all about Jesus. It's not about me. It's about Jesus." If he was of the devil, why would he seek to glorify Jesus? I'm just not sure why a supposed "minister of satan" would tell everyone to look to Jesus, to worship Jesus, and after every healing why would he tell people to give the glory to Jesus? "A kingdom divided against itself will fall." I'm just not sure I follow your logic. The best I can tell is that you would rather God smite the USA with the plagues of Egypt than to demonstrate his love through healing. Jesus never did what the people expected. He could have come as the deliverer of Israel in a physical sense and drive Rome off the face of the planet, but that wasn't the Father's way. He chose instead a lowely birth, and a cursed death to be his ultimate answer to the state of the world. He offended the religious establishment and the events in Lakeland have certainly done that. Jesus said that those who follow him will cast out devils, heal the sick and raise the dead, and preach the good news. So my question is: Does God still do that today, or do you think he would rather we stay in bondage and pain? If not, then why do you think it God wouldn't want to do on a mass scale? I'm goal is not to point a finger, but to try to understand what your actual issue is with what is going on. All I ever see anyone doing is quoting someone else's opinion of what MIGHT be going on in Lakeland (as most of the reports I've seen that are opposed don't even get the facts right). All I can do is pray that truth wins out.

Phil: Hi Adam...Welcome to Theology Today,

To answer your "simple question" go to 2Corinthians 11:12-15. Anyone can utter the name Jesus....and many have including the Mormons....

Another indication are what does the teacher teach? Is it Scriptural?
http://phillyflash.wordpress.com/2008/05/02/heavens-realities-or-todd-bentleys-delusions/

Another indication is the teachers lifestyle...and my biggest question (or red flag if you will) are the tattoos after his supposed conversion and while he already was in fulltime ministry? Scripture is very clear on this Adam (Leviticus 19:28).

I heard Bentley say the other night "I want to see myself on GOD TV every night" so that's another red flag....

There are some of my "issues"....Too many red flags for me Adam!

Hey Andrew,

I made an error in my scripture reference. I should have said 1John 2:29, not 1John 1:29.

Also while there check out 1John 3:7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.

Also, in regards to the law - check out Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law.

We do not have a license to sin...and what better gauge to our spiritual well being then to keep before us the Holy and moral character of God. I can say I delight in the law according to the inward man, or should I say woman. :)

There is a fine line between being like the Pharisees and so subjective that they seek justification in the law and then there is the problem with those who are so objective there is no plumbline remaining to test them and see if they are from God. There must be a balance between the subjective and the objective. When you see one side taken to extreme, as we see in this Florida outpouring, then we can truthfully say - Houston, we have a problem.

Here's some quotes from an email discussion I had with a relation of mine about this revival and false prophets. I agree Dorothy about Jesus coming to fulfill the law, sorry for the misunderstanding. Phil just read this. I'm not going to be antagonistic even though you called me a frooty loop haha

"The fact of the matter is that the Church of Jesus Christ is supposed to be manifesting the miraculous as a part of everyday living. We have lived for so long below that standard that we have all these nay-sayers who want the status quo to continue. If you read the book of Daniel (2:44), Mark 16:18-20, John 14:12 are we not told that power demonstrations will be a sign of those who believe? Ultimately, these demonstrations of God's power will usher in a release of the glory of God where His name is preached. Unfortunately, there are those who will always end up moving in the flesh when the power of God moves upon them - church history shows revival after revival where fleshly manifestations were evident. That does not mean God is not moving. Remember also that God does not confirm a minister's words, He confirms His Word. That is why we see fleshly ministers of God flowing in the power of God - they are speaking God's Word which He confirms.
It really does not matter what arguments people have against the results of God 's power on a person. What matters if that God's power is demonstrated to "destroy the works of darkness" (I John 3:8). Remember, some of these manifestations have a demonic element to them as people are delivered when the power of God come upon them. As for the so-called necromancy charge, it is God who decides when angelic beings, departed saints and other heavenly beings are sent for the purpose of conveying a message. From Genesis to Revelation we see tremendous spiritual activity - angels and departed saints. Read in your Bible about the ANGEL of the LORD who is worshipped in the OT. Angels do not receive worship. Read Daniel 3:24-25 - it is clear that these men had a visitation from One who looked like the Son of God and the King and his attendants saw this 4th person. Why do we think it is not possible for departed saints to be sent with communication from God?
Do you remember Jesus transfiguration? Does it not say that Elijah AND Moses were talking with Jesus? This is not something new it is Biblical. Observe the difference here - Jesus did not call up Elijah or Moses - they were sent by the Father with some purpose
The Bible tells you how to discern a false prophet: if the word he speaks come to pass then he is not a false prophet. However, there is a more significant issue that we need to understand: the people of God are not to be led by prophets in this day of the Spirit. Prophets will see and warn the church of things that are coming but they do not lead God's people. This is at the core of the problem of deception because we Christians are desiring to be led by everyone else except by the Holy Spirit

Hello Andrew,

Quote: Dorothy you say “. I know who I serve and I am a slave to righteousness.”
Well I am not a Slave to righteousness, I aspire to be a slave to Jesus Christ, because we are not BOUND by the LAW anymore. If you read Paul’s writing you will see that righteousness apart from the grace of God is accounted as filthy rags before God. IT IS PURE GIFT. So that NO ONE MAY BOAST.

(Me)
If you want to be a slave to Christ, then you certainly must come to know all about Him and that is revealed in scripture through inspritation of the Holy Ghost. I am a slave to rightousness and it is Him that I serve.

1John 1:29 - If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.

You say you are not a slave to righteouness. After reading this, you may want to revise your position here. If you need more scriptures I can provide them.

While we most certainly are not justified by the law, it has not been abrogated. Christ was the end of the law for sacrifice, but He didn't abrogate the law. (Matt 5:17-18)

Paul called the law Holy, just and good. (Rom 7:12). You speak of it likes its vile and not understanding the purpose of the law today leaves you ill equiped to exhibit discernment. You do no understand the law nor its purpose. Try reading Psm 19:7-14.

Understand:

Gal 3:7 Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham.

Gen 26:4-5 "And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed; because Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws."

Hmmmm - commandments - statutes - laws - BEFORE the Mosaic law...you need to think about that one.

Eze 44:23 And they shall teach My people the difference between the holy and the unholy, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.

Keep studying Andrew. This Florida ourpouring is a deception.

Gen 26:4-5 “And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed; because Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws.”

Hmmmm - commandments - statutes - laws - BEFORE the Mosaic law…you need to think about that one.

Eze 44:23 And they shall teach My people the difference between the holy and the unholy, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.

Keep studying Andrew. This Florida ourpouring is a deception.

You are right that the Didache is not "Holy Writ". We are to test the spirits indeed, and by what means are we to test these spirits? Out of our own understanding? Is the discernment of spirits not a spiritual gift? Along with supernatural healing?
Are devils not being drive out NIGHT after NIGHT in Florida? Can the Devil be driven out by the devil? A kingdom divided cannot stand you will recall. Would the Devil delight in thousands upon thousands singing songs that Glorify Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord?
Dorothy you say ". I know who I serve and I am a slave to righteousness."
Well I am not a Slave to righteousness, I aspire to be a slave to Jesus Christ, because we are not BOUND by the LAW anymore. If you read Paul's writing you will see that righteousness apart from the grace of God is accounted as filthy rags before God. IT IS PURE GIFT. So that NO ONE MAY BOAST. Do you thing God would allow thousands upon thousands of his children and leaders to be led into spiritual darkness while proclaiming his name, PRAISING HIS NAME, calling upon his name, humbling, repenting, being healed of addictions etc. Do you recall Solomon and David blessed beyond measure with riches from the Lord, SINCE when has making money become a sin? Especially if you are using that money to travel around the world and preach the gospel. I CHALLENGE you- TO PRAY TO GOD. To say LORD- I'm pretty sure that TODD BENTLEY is a false PROPHET but I KNOW you have told me not to RELY on my own understanding, and that you DO USE THE FOOLISH things of this world, that your grace is offensive, and that you are a spirit-a supernatural God. (look at jesus ministry, miracle after miracle "and you shall do greater things than these". Pray to God that HE WILL TELL YOU. Take it from him, not the DIDACHE. Because, My brothers in the faith, there is a danger of a RELIGIOUS spirit, of being enslaved to the LAW- TO RIGHTEOUSNESS, without knowing that God has paid the cost.. The kingdom advances. thanks for reading. I FEEL called to defend this man of God, because i was skeptical at first as well. THEY shall be known by their fruits.....

Phil: Andrew, we have used the Word of God to test this mans teachings: the Didache was just in addition to a comment that was made referring to accepting money. Read the following;

How do you know people are being saved? Devils being cast out? How do you really know this Andrew? Bentley claims to have visited Paul in heaven....pretty far fetched eh Andrew? Maybe all the claims of devils being cast out are more of the same far fetched claims?

I haven't heard Bentley "preach the Gospel" Andrew....and I've watched this cad several times...but I hear a lot of talk about angels, burning embers ad nauseum....

I don't have to pray about Todd Bentley being a false prophet....God's Word confirms this for me...but I do pray for the masses who have been led down the fruit loop trail (which most likely means you as well Andrew) as well as for Bentley.

Hi All,
I was right....well half right:) Here's Chapter 11 of the Didache...not Holy Writ but a snapshot of the early days;

1 Whosoever, therefore, shall come and teach you all these things aforesaid, him do ye receive;
2 but if the teacher himself turn and teach another doctrine with a view to subvert you, hearken not to him; but if he come to add to your righteousness, and the knowledge of the Lord, receive him as the Lord.
3 But concerning the apostles and prophets, thus do ye according to the doctrine of the Gospel.
4 Let every apostle who cometh unto you be received as the Lord.
5 He will remain one day, and if it be necessary, a second; but if he remain three days, he is a false prophet.
6 And let the apostle when departing take nothing but bread until he arrive at his resting-place; but if he ask for money, he is a false prophet.
7 And ye shall not tempt or dispute with any prophet who speaketh in the spirit; for every sin shall be forgiven, but this sin shall not be forgiven.
8 But not every one who speaketh in the spirit is a prophet, but he is so who hath the disposition of the Lord; by their dispositions they therefore shall be known, the false prophet and the prophet.
9 And every prophet who ordereth in the spirit that a table shall be laid, shall not eat of it himself, but if he do otherwise, he is a false prophet;
10 and every prophet who teacheth the truth, if he do not what he teacheth is a false prophet;
11 and every prophet who is approved and true, and ministering in the visible mystery of the Church, but who teacheth not others to do the things that he doth himself, shall not be judged of you, for with God lieth his judgment, for in this manner also did the ancient prophets.
12 But whoever shall say in the spirit, Give me money, or things of that kind, listen not to him; but if he tell you concerning others that are in need that ye should give unto them, let no one judge him.
