Back Online!!!

I haven’t posted in a couple of weeks for various reasons. My computer was on the fritz which only validated my personal belief that computers are spawns of Satan. My work schedule has dramatically increased and I’ve been dealing with a personal matter this past week or two that needed to be addressed. The dreaded “bloggers block” has also played a part in my lack of posting….but here’s what’s been on my mind the last few days…..

We’ve been dealing quite a bit lately with healing; specifically with one or two misguided folks who manipulate the Scriptures and teach that we have “authority” to impart healing. Oh, they make big claims but you want to know the funny bit in all of this? They don’t believe it themselves. They go to doctors. They have tests done to see what is physically wrong with them. Why go through all that if they have “authority” to impart healing? Some believe their teachings and call them inspired….Jesus called them hypocrites.

I did watch all the hoopla Pope Benedict XVI created on his visit to America. Did you see all the nuns getting pushed back by his security people….like groupies chasing after a rock star. Of course he actually is a rock star to the 1 billion or so Roman Catholics who honestly believe he’s the mouthpiece for God….an infallible mouthpiece at that. He entered the ministry for very practical reasons….he wanted a nice car! The “pope mobile” is one sweet ride….I’d say the Prada wearing Pope reached his goal….and then some.

Watching President George W. Bush meet the Pope at the airport convinced me of one thing…..world leaders can’t be Christian and be world leaders. Why on earth would a true Christian meet the Pope at an airport….or anywhere else for that matter? Bush even offered to throw Benedict XVI a birthday bash at the White House….only the guest of honor had already made other plans! More egg on the face for the non-Christian “Christian” named George Walker Bush!

I watched a bit of Joel Osteen last weekend and I would

love to bring him here to Corfu to give my students a “pep talk” before their next tennis tournament! That’s about all he could give them as my students (ranging from 8-17 in age) would laugh in his face if he ever attempted to teach them his brand of “theology”. Maybe bringing Osteen here wouldn’t be a bad idea….Osteen could fire them up and the kids could teach him that Mormons aren’t Christian. I’m sitting back smiling bigger than Osteen at the thought!

One thing I didn’t miss during my computer troubles was reading and commenting on other blogs. I did read the blogs on my blogroll….as well as a few heretical blogs that I keep an eye on…but that’s it. One heretical blog that linked to mine is now by “invitation only”. This blog is a joke and the moderator is disingenuous…..and I’m glad the heretical garbage this owner is spewing is not available to the general public any longer! Who is it? Just send me an email and I’ll forward you my one and only interaction with this “Christian” and how this heretic lied and manipulated in order to win an “argument” and give me a “lecture”……

It seems like the personal problem has been resolved….and I’m happy about this. God showed me how foolish I was to ever entertain the thoughts I was having….and I have learned that He knows best when I just let Him have His way! Sometimes things that make sense to us make zero sense to Him…and the best part is I can follow Jesus more strongly then before….and still keep my friend!!!

Finally, some of the older kids I teach have informed me that my blog was far more interesting when I used stronger rhetoric. According to them, it’s lost it’s “pop” and I’d better “toughen up a bit” and “get the most out of my talent”. I think I’ll take their advice!

  1. Phil,

Sounds like you’ve been having the time of your life. And, thanks for the mews reel. I also read about Joel Osteen’s right hand of fellowship to Mormonism. That guy keeps surprising me.

As for Bush and the Pope, we do know that birds of the same feather…

I think, too, that you should listen to your older students :-D

    Stay strong, brother!

Phil: Thanks brother…it’s really been swell:).

  2. Phil, you’re a needed presence on the web brother. Any more unexcused absences will not be tolerated. Another violation may result in severe discipline, such as having Suzanne Hinn give you a Holy Ghost enema.
