Which Theologian Are You?

I began this blog one year ago today and in honor of this I thought we could have a little fun around here. I was looking at Brother Sicarri’s blog and discovered a quiz I’d like you all to participate in. It’s called “Which Theologian are you”. I lined up 100% with Karl Barth and Anselm of Canterbury (big surprise) with John Calvin running a very close 3rd place. Take the test and tell us “Which Theologian you are” and don’t worry, no one will flame you for being a Charles Finney theologian: -)

Have fun kids!

  2. Nice quiz.

I am 93% Anselm (I am full of myself now) :-)

    Phil: I KNEW it! I knew I wasn’t alone!!!!!!

  3. Oh yes, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE BLOG.

  4. So I’m guessing Anselm wasn’t a bad choice since that’s what I scored as well. Odd that I’d never heard of him before but everyone else—like Luther or Calvin and others—are the main ones everyone is familar with………though I guess it’s all good.

Phil: What’s up Dude? Anselm was a tough cookie Brother! Thanks for stopping by and taking the test!

  5. Hey, Happy Blog B’Day my friend!! I came out as a Barth, which reveals the absolute worthlessness of the quiz LOL!! Without a clear definition of terms and concepts, it’s impossible to answer the questions. What the tester means by (for example) “free will”, or sovereignty, cannot be ascertained since there is no attempt to define terms.

    Ah well………theology in a quiz format. Who’dathunkit??

Phil: What would the folks at Rhema say about this :) The test was impossible to answer but had I came out as Finney I would’ve tossed my laptop into the sea!

  6. Hi,

I scored as Karl Barth. 100%

    Dorothy

Phil: That’s a big surprise to me :)

  7. I’m a Karl Barth clone

  8. Hey there Phil……….no fair bringing up my sordid spiritual past brother LOL!! And I agree with you about coming out a Finney. Only I would have tied a millstone about my neck and tossed myself into the sea.

Phil: Sorry….couldn’t resist. I went to a school quite similar……Thank God He rescued us eh?

    GaryV - March 21, 2008 at 2:40 am

  9. That was fun. First, I scored as John Calvin, followed by Martin Luther. Then I changed one answer on purpose and was John Calvin followed by Karl Barf (not a typo).

Would love to meet you in person some day, Phil–before heaven, that is.

    Phil Perkins.

  10. Just a quick note, incase some of you don’t know, Karl Barth was actually a heretic. He was widely misunderstood, by such men as Carl Henry who thought Barth was hunky-dory. This was because he used language that was orthodox sounding. For instance, he loved to speak of the elect and the reprobate. The problem was that everyone was both reprobate and elect. So that the first word from God to any particular man was that he was a sinner headed for hell, but then the last word to each and every man was that he is elect. So all are saved whether or not the had even heard the gospel or the name of Christ. I could go on. His view of God was downright confusing. God was His own revelation, according to Barth, leaving one to ask just who was doing the revealing since God did not exist outside of His own revelation. (Can you say “double-speak”?)

    Just a word of caution,
    Phil Perkins.

Phil: barth was a heretic….I know that……the test was fun but how for the life of me did I (who my friends say would be a 6 point calvinist if there were such a thing) only score 67% Calvin?

  11. Congrat on the B’day. I came out 100% Martin Luther and 100% Anselm (that must be from listening to Pastor John every night).I was 0% finney. I concur if Finney had risen to the top, I’d rather join Gary at the bottom of the Dead Sea.

  12. Phil, you made me laugh brother LOL!! The weakness of your flesh to bring up Rhema to me is reprehensible. I just sent away for Marilyn Hickey’s new book on generational curses so I can learn how to curse your family for a few generations. Then I’m going to send Benny (there’s 9 of ‘em) Hinn with his Holy Ghost Machine gun to cut you down. Finally, Suzanne Hinn will be right behind (no pun intended) to give you a Holy Ghost enema.

You picked the wrong Manifest Son Of God to mess with today my friend. *wink*

  13. Then it’s a good thing I woke up today at 4am to have communion with Paula White! I tithed and will receive Larry Huch’s “Breaking the Generational Curse”!

    Have a great day GaryV!

  14. SIX POINT CALVINIST?! Yikes. So do you believe in double reprobation?

    Just a joke,
    Phil Perkins.

    Phil Perkins - March 26, 2008 at 1:15 am

  15. This is unbelievable. :-D

I came out 100% Karl Barth
    67% Calvin
    67% Anselm
    67% Luther.

I don’t know anything about Barth, but from what Phil Perkins said, I don’t want to be a BARF! :-)

    Happy belated buff day phillyflash.

Hi, Big brother Phil. It has really been a loooong time. lol. How have you been, brother?

    Naomi - March 27, 2008 at 4:18 pm

  16. No Phil…..double depravity.

    GaryV - March 28, 2008 at 12:47 am

  17. Naomi,

Nice to see you! I finally got off my lazy backside and put your link up! I’m doing really well by the way!

    Phil and GaryV,

Very funny…..and I have probably earned both of those titles! I was thinking Double Sovereignty as I’m one of those silly people that believes God is in COMPLETE CONTROL!

    Phil Naessens - March 28, 2008 at 9:21 am

  18. Thank God you are fine. I saw the link, thanks bro.
