Paula White Exposed

I have been extremely harsh on the ministry of Paula White. Recently, she was interviewed by minister and radio host Paul Edwards. I’ve always maintained that pimps like Paula White are biblically illiterate and morally bankrupt. I believe that their consciences are so seared that there is little hope that they will repent and turn from their deception. The radio interview established, at least for me, that Paula White is biblically illiterate, morally bankrupt and most likely not even a Christian.

Paul Edwards did an excellent job in questioning this viper on her divorce and wacky theology. Edwards was a far cry from that sycophant Carmen when Carmen interviewed  Paula White on TBN. No “Princess Diana” comparisons here. It quickly became apparent that Paula White didn’t have a clue what she was talking about. She never once answered a direct question about her theology as related to her new book “You’re All That”.

Paula White ducked and dodged. She appeared confused and definitely defensive. She lacked the confidence that she usually demonstrates when she speaks behind a pulpit. Make no mistake. She believes that divorcing her husband was based on the Word of God. Let’s be clear. God’s Word states that unless there is infidelity involved there is no basis for a divorce (Matthew 19:3-9). Also keep in mind that this will be her second divorce which eliminates her from any form of ministry as prescribed in 1Timothy Chapter 3 whether you believe God called women to church leadership or not. Obviously, Paula could care less about God’s Word or His commands.

I’m beginning to wonder if she even wrote this book. It’s no secret that some of the pimps employ ghostwriters to write their books for them. She certainly had trouble defending her book theologically. She did say “we” quite often whenever she attempted to explain or defend this book. It doesn’t really matter either way. The book has nothing to do with theology and has everything to do with self and prosperity. These are two topics Paula White is very well versed in. Unfortunately both are contrary to God’s Word.

Near the end of the interview, precious Paula directed this startling attack towards Edwards’s integrity;

“And while we’re talking about painful, difficult situations, with all due respect, I understand “let’s get the elephant out of the room,” we’ve taken 30 minutes on divorce. But I don’t understand why not an interviewer or a believer as yourself has not asked me how my daughter, who has a death sentence, with third and fourth stage cancer, how she’s doing now.”

Ouch! The above statement demonstrates a clear picture into the character and heart of Paula White. Edwards well conducted interview exposed her false teachings and limited bible knowledge. Edwards allowed his listeners to plainly see that this Jezebel’s actions and ‘ministry’ are a stench in the nostrils of God. Paula may actually believe she’s “All That” but her parting shot directed at Edwards proves that she really is a “messed up Mississippi girl” that desperately needs Jesus in her life. Maybe one day it will actually happen but I’m not holding my breath.

  1. You know-people like you who attack another christian only gives non-christians further ammunition that christians judge others and look down on any lifestyle that isn’t similiar to theirs. You outlook on christianity is probably shared by other christians and that’s fine but you’ll never be able to reach a non-christian because of your superior attitude that you show. Paula White will reach those people and bring them to the Lord so you tell me who is doing more for the Lord-you or her. I would assume she has exposed more people to the Lord than you could ever hope for so if even a few more people have accepted Christ because of Paula White-why in the world would you attack her like you did. We, as christians should show our christianity to a fellow christian who is going through an exceptionally hard time right now, instead of attacking. I have been married to my husband for 27 years and have been fortunate to have come from families with very little divorces, but none the less-I have compassion for a fellow christian that is going through a rough time right now. You need to look at the life of our Lord-he showed compassion and forgiveness and we are supposed to model him. How can you throw other scriptures and yet show no compassion or forgiveness and say you are a christian. What comes to mind is There but by the grace of God go I. Your wife could come to you tomorrow and say I want a divorce and give you absolutely no reason and you too would be divorced or you may have a child one day that will have to go through a divorce. We’re not always promised the perfect road ahead but we are promised that we can walk it with Christ’s help. You probably say it wouldn’t happen. Be careful. Sometimes the compassion we show or don’t show on others will come back on us. I’m praying for Paula and her family, but more importantly her walk with Christ will get her through this. Show some Christian Love to others because there will come a time you will wish you had.

Phil: I have to disagree with you on your belief that Paula White leads others to the Lord. Everything she says and does is a direct contradiction to God’s Word and His commands. Her “atonement” teaching is off. Christ was our atonement offering yet Paula wants you to send her money. This teaching denies the work of the cross Laura. Her Jesus is not the Jesus of the bible and I will pray for you that you will one day see that Paula White is an opportunist and most likely isn’t even saved herself.

  3. Hello people,

Great thoughts and views! Have you thought about the fact that the Christian community issue is fundamental, one largely premised presently on wrong foundation? No wonder the rancor and associated arguments.

In product development, it is the exclusive right of the creator/ manufacturer to name a product, because the name suggests its character. It was the people in Antioch that called them Christians and not Jesus! Christianity - from several suggestions would mean a people trying to be like Christ but that is not what Jesus came to do. He is the first fruit and we are same like him (the vine and we are the branches). All of these could be seen as growing up processes. This should give one a view we must take when addressing a Christian that is in the wrong. What I would refer as growing up experience - we all once walked on all fours (hands & legs) like animals but that was babyhood stage but there is also growing up, even when you are fully grown sometimes you may find yourself for whatever reason on all fours (I would hope it is for awhile and not a lifestyle).
There is a life after here, a life of ruler ship and God knows that and we should recognize that, we would be given responsibility higher than what we had on this earthly plane…Jesus said that, for the Joy that was set before him - he endured the cross and the shame. God respects human will but that is what decides for the individual where you would be at the next life - the position you would occupy, because God has a large family you see and he is a just God…and there is not favoritism here! You would be rewarded according to your work. Remember God’s word is our talent to trade or live with, he would not trade it for you, you would have to make the investment options, if you make 30%, 60%, 100% percent - good for you! He would always seek to help us with His wise counsel but it is ours to choose.

If a Christian chooses to remain a baby, leave him or her, God is not mocked you see! Whatsoever a man sows that shall he also reap. Then it told us not to sow to the flesh - (sensory reasoning - which is elementary really) but to the spirit! To some they don’t even know what defines happiness, fun and prosperity for them! it is like a baby looking at the cloud and thinking …wow! “It is and looks so solid…so real”…but we know my reason of growth that the clouds is simply air! Why the division over nothing? If you are intelligent ……wow! Praise God and keep it for your credit and please don’t use it to cause division! Instead of us focusing on areas we disagree and strengthen the division (which is the desire of the devil), lets us focus on areas we agree! If you believe that Jesus is lord …lets get moving and working together.

Men and women are not their bodies nor are they their emotions! We are higher than these two but - what a deception to see many being controlled by it! What is reality? What informs what is real to us? Is it our reasoning or our emotions or the word of God? However if a brother chooses to live and copulate with another brother…. please leave them alone (and love them anyways because it is your life and reward to love) …they have made their choice of having their bodies and their mind control them. As they have theirs to deal with remember you have yours to deal with. Let each one of us focus on working out (expressing) their wholeness (salvation) in Christ with fear and trembling (meaning - with strict adherence to detail from the master plan) knowing that He would repay us with JOY!

The joy that Jesus was willing to forego every insult, shame, physical pain for……Oh! i am looking forward to Joy! I am not going to let myself be deceived that all these things in these world are that tangible and real, if i fall …i will get me up again because am focused of having a 100% yield - having traded with word of God on this plane and made profits.

Lets stop the debate and let each one focus on trading/living the word of God! For you that have issues - I say to you ….use (trade) the word on that area —you would see profit…i know you will because nothing is greater than the word of God.
Know this, Gal 3:27; for all of you who have been baptized into Christ, have clothed yourselves with Christ! You are Christ now! Start living/trading (expressing) who you truly are! Anything outside of you in Christ is not real and should be subsume by the real one!

Love you all my family in Christ!

    Cheers!

  4. It is one thing to suggest that we exercise compassion towards Paula White on the basis of her HUMANITY, but quite another to ask that she be treated as a fellow Christian when all of her teaching is the polar opposite of Christianity!

If I steal a policeman’s uniform, badge, and gun, no matter how real I look, close examination will prove me a counterfeit.

Wearing a doctor’s labcoat and throwing a stethoscope around my neck won’t make me a surgeon either.

Paula’s false teaching is as harmful– more, even– as a mechanic doing surgery.

I suggest that she does NOT lead people to God, but to HER. As well as to a prideful self-image. Anyone who claims to have come to Christ by hearing her preach did so by the pure providence of God and better thank Him for rescuing them from the end results of her flawed instruction!

Also, I think it is shameful to use a STEPdaughter’s illness to deflect a real, substantive argument. That is devious.

I don’t think those who snatch babies out of traffic should be criticized as we who seek to warn the unsuspecting and defend the faith so often are.

Keep doing what you are doing. You have my support.

Phil: Thanks Maxdaddy. You’ve made some excellent analogies and I appreciate your comments and illustrations that back up your statements. Paula White does indeed lead people to her. Look at the “life coach” shennanigans. Pure self and I believe just for the bling.

    Be Blessed Brother!

  8. It is good to hear from you. I can feel and see the passion of your heart! I agree with you we must stand ‘tall and out’ recognizing that we are of a kingdom, and you see, job, a kingdom is their ideology - i.e. that which defines their sentiments and self actualization pursuit and that is what Jesus meant when he said that the gates (argument/ideology) of hell will not prevail against the church (depositors of the truth/reality). We must not let the enemy dictate, tailor guide, or polarize the church with lies and his arguments and views. He did the same thing to Adam - eat this and you will be like God, whereas he was already made in the image and likeness of God (he is god).

I think that we have primarily allowed the enemy to dictate the angle of our discussion in the church globally and that should and must stop.

We must recognize that we are wiser than the enemy because we have the wisdom of God. Seeing things from a defeatist perspective would only bred unnecessary arguments. When this argument were so much in the days of Paul - he responded by saying that what counts is that Jesus is lord

Job, would you rather focus on the fruit from a tree or the root-cause of the matter, i.e. the tree! What would make Paula White justify divorce? What would give her such a view? If we tackle such and not Paula white herself would we not have dealt with the matter? Jesus said ”in the beginning that it were not so”. Imagine what would happen if we highlight and answer the world’s innate question that seek to destroy them? Yes! I believe that is standing out and tall!

I look forward to partnering with you in these areas.

    Have a great day

Nice job, I just spent 30 min listening to your interview with paula. Ive been accused before of looking and listening deeper than the surface. This time Im glad I did. Because if anybody really pays attention to the interview. What they are going to find is this. Two people that really know their bible. And only one, being yoruself, that the Holy Spirit speakes through that knowledge. Every time she used her carnal knowledge of the word of God, your spirit knowledge just smoked her…………..Talk about kicking a wolf in the teeth…..

  11. Hi Everyone,

I don’t know if anyone has been following some events in the US, but it appears there is now a Senate Panel Probe of 6 top televangelists. Those listed are Paula White, Joyce Meyer, Creflo Dollar, Eddie Long, Kenneth Copeland and Benny Hinn. The panel is demanding financial records to be provided by Dec 6th. The question on the table is “are these ministries using their tax exempt status to shield lavish lifestyles?”. Ya think!!!!

It’s a sad state of affairs when the government has to intervene to question these issues. If we, as the Church, were doing our job Biblically, these people wouldn’t even have a soap box to stand on.

  12. It’s good to be here.

I think the issue here though concerned with the activities of Pastor Paula White, actually goes beyond that. Her case is just a figment in the expanse of tragic incidents that daily beset the Body of CHRIST. How we respond to this daily figments tell a lot on our capacity to successfully engage the enemy within and without.

It is not a very good practice to sit behind a counter and throw prescriptions to a dying patient. Also, it’s not about hanging a brazen serpent on a stick and then command every to look, see and be saved. No!. We should be like JESUS- an High Priest who was touched by the infirmities of those he came to save.

We should ask ourselves, what would JESUS have done in this case. Would HE have had this Mississipi lady thrown out of the Church congregation and stoned to death? Would JESUS have had her suspended as Apostle Paul recommends?

I respect the writings of great Apostle Paul a lot, but sometime I wonder to myself if our LORD JESUS was to come for another earthly ministry, would HE have cause to say as HE had said about a certain law of Moses that it was not meant to be so from the very begining?

The expectation of us as men and women of the Christian faith in dealing with the several human weaknesses around us is not predicated on the gravity of the sin, profile of the offender or the degree of damage done. To toe such line will mean losing the soul and winning a vile, contentious agrument.

Let’s not only show how much we know, let’s show some love too. Everyone needs it. Little wonder Pastor Paula White asked the TV Presenter why he never cared to how her little daughter was faring.

Whether in asking Pastor Paula White to step aside, step down or even suspende her, I believe the best practice will be to follow the steps of our LORD JESUS CHRIST. HE has given the Church the winning formula in dealing with every kind of enemy.

What a soul searching benefit this forum serve all CHRIST believers! THank you.

  13. Hi Phil & family,

Phil let me tell you about Paul Edwards…he broadcasts from Detroit (where I live) on WLQV 1500am–if you’re fluff–DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT GOING TO PAUL EDWARDS FOR AN INTERVIEW cuz he will tear you up with the Word of God!

He will laugh at your jokes and cry at your sob stories, but walk in error, and spread false teachings and it is “stick a fork in him…HE’S DONE!” He’s coming at you with both barrels and you better be ready. He is no nonsense when it comes to our daddy, and you will not, shall not, AIN’T NOT going to hoodwink, or bamboozle Paul! I love him!

He talked about the interview and wanted to know how could a woman basically throw her daughter out to the wolves just because Paula couldn’t (or wouldn’t) answer his questions. And it’s not her daughter, it’s her soon to be ex-husband’s daughter. I think the botox has migrated to her bloodsystem and is turning sceptic!

I’m still coming to join you in Greece for an awesome Mediterranean meal!

  14. Your attack on Paula White is disgusting. You are the one that sounds like a viper. Your heart is full of vengeance. Something needs to be dug out at the root from your soul…

Phil: Yes, of course. The shoot the messenger tactic. Paula White is a heartless viper who robs from the poor to make herself rich. Keep on giving her your money John. Did you cough up your first paycheck to receive your blessing John? You better hurry, time is running out. Paula needs your money to fuel her jet!

  16. self is not contrary to the Word of God. the seeking of self that’s contrary. self is to be sacrificed like Christ & certainly Christ is not contrary to the Word of God.

also, prosperity is definitely not contrary to the Word of God because there’s so many scriptures where it’s promised to those who walk in the commands of the Lord.

lastly, check your heart and motives. no one can say “Jesus is Lord” but by the Holy Spirit. she’s your sister in Christ. How can you tear her down so much and think that it’s cool when God’s Word explicitly says in Proverbs 6:19 that sowing discord among the bretheren is an abomination (remember that so is homosexuality)?

Phil: Hi Bruce. Welcome to Theology Today.

Did you listen to the interview? Did you hear the guilt trip she attempted to lay on Paul Edwards? That was deplorable Bruce. Paula White is out for the cash. How is pointing this out sowing discord? You know something else Bruce? Whether you believe this or not, I actually feel sorry for Paula White. I don’t think it’s “cool” to have to expose her…..in fact, she exposed herself with her playing upon her step daughters illness in a vain attempt to create sympathy for herself to deflect attention away from the real issues…..her divorce and her false teaching.

  17. [I, Timothy J. Bortner, have pasted this reply here from the "Siddiki" thread simply because it applies to Paula White (who was already mentioned in it too) as well and all those like her]

    To whom it may concern:

I just ran across this site as I was doing a little research on “Siddiki” here myself.

I fully agree with the first article above that exposes this “Siddiki” for the heretic that he most assuredly is. It is a breath of fresh air to hear someone expose these men for the deceived deceivers that they are.

On the other hand though, it is quite sad to see how many deceived ones run to the defense of men such as Siddiki whereby they then fall headlong into a ditch with him.

I have been a Christian for some 30 years now and do a great deal of apologetic work myself. As anyone knows, who obeys the Scriptures and thereby is defending the faith which was once delivered unto the saints against these “flock-fleecers”, such obedience to God’s Word does not make one very popular with the vast majority of “Christians”.

I have watched the likes of Oral Roberts, Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth & Gloria Copeland, Creflo and Taffi Dollar, Fred Price, Paula White etc., for many years now on TBN (The Beggars Network). One thing that never ceases to amaze me in all this is that the more outrageous their false-teachings have become over the years, is how the multitudes that follow them just continue to grow. This demonstrates the Scriptures quite well when they speak of the apostasy that would come in the latter times.

Surely this apostasy is upon us as so very many are climbing aboard the “ecumenical ark” of false-teachings of all sorts and thereby making shipwreck of their faith.

I have watched Oral Roberts referring to Jesus Christ “The Seed” sown by God on the Cross and using this as an example of how “believer’s are to “sow seed” for worldly gain.

I have watched the “Paula White” show around Easter with that other heretic “Steve Muncey” where they had a cross in the background with pieces of paper nailed to it, supposedly requests of whatever sort, in order to get their viewers to send them money.

I have watched Creflo Dollar take the “fruit of the Spirit” in Galatinas 5 and supposedly “correct” the false view (false according to Creflo) that the “Spirit” there is not referring to the fruit of the Holy Spirit, but rather to a regenerated man’s spirit. The kicker here is that his message was supposed to be about “selfishness”. What could be more selfish than attributing the fruit of the Holy Spirit to man’s spirit?

I have watched Fred Price boasting about his Rolls Royce and other worldly gain that he has accumulated by preaching his lies.

I have watched the Kenneth Copeland Show, just last week in fact, where he had this “Christian” medical doctor on and they were talking about eating properly and what not. Here, the “doctor”, to which Copeland agreed, turned Romans 12:1 & 1 Cor. 6:19-20 which are about holiness of body etc., into a diet plan.

I have read Hagin where he states that, “The Christian is as much an incarnation as is Jesus Of Nazereth”. [The virgin birth; Word of faith, 12 1977, p.8.]

I’m watching Rod Parsley right now here in my study as I write this telling us to sow a “now seed” a “sacrificial seed” like we’ve never sown before for $2008.00 here in the year of 2008 so we can receive an “uncommon harvest”.

Oh wait a minute, here comes Marilyn Hickey talking about “the power of the seed”.

These people have one goal, your money for their gain.

We would do well to hear the Word of God here:

“18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:

19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)” Phil. 3:18-19.

What more can I say but this.

Anyone who defends these types has been deceived by the serpent, had their mind corrupted and is following another Jesus just as Paul warned us about not doing here in 2 Cor. 11:

“3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.”

Those who follow and/or defend these types of men and women are sadly doing exactly what Paul says here “ye might well bear with him”.

In closing here, someone in one of these posts, to defend these heretics, used the Word spoken by Jesus here in Matthew 7:1:

“Judge not, that ye be not judged.”

I will warn every one of you who defend these or any other type of heretic, about this verse. When it comes to spreading his deception and keeping The Truth from being heard, this verse is one of Satan’s favorite verses, which he uses in his attempt to deceive the multitudes with his lies.

Unfortunately, “attempt” is the wrong word here, for Satan is actually doing it as many of these posts clearly demonstrate.

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

    “3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.” 1 Tim. 6:3-4.

  18. To whom it may concern:

I can’t help but notice the lack of comments now, but perhaps that is just the nature of this site at times.

With what I said above now said, I would like to add a little something to it.

I realize that there are more than likely some young Christians here posting, this is primarily for them. But, at the same time here it has been my experience with the Christian of many years that so very many of them also do not even realize what I am about to say.

To put it bluntly, by and large today’s “Christianity” is not the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. I am referring here primarily to what we see on TV and hear on the radio, and it for the most part, not being Biblical Christianity. This is also true in a great number of “church” fellowships.

“3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” Jude 3.

I have over the years found myself more often than not in the position of doing this. In other words, I often want to talk to other Christians about “the common salvation”, but not long into the conversation I find myself put in the position to “earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.”

There are a few primary reasons for this I suppose. I reckon that the biggest problem here is that most Christians do not “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Tim. 2:15.

Because of this, the lack of studying God’s Word, and even church history for that matter, they do not know the truth from the lie. Because of this they are being led into all sorts of things that are contrary to sound Biblical doctrine.

    A poet once said:

Who would leave the fountain head,
    To drink from muddy streams,
And mix what God has said,
    With every dreamer’s dream.”

Unfortuantely, many are doing this very thing today. They have left God’s Word, the fountain head, and are drinking from the muddy doctrinal streams of every dreamer’s dream.

If one is primarily getting their “Christianity” from what is going on today on TV and radio (where most people get the teachings of a Paula White or those like her) they are getting a false-gospel that is nothing more than “covetousness being called faith”.

Through those like Paula White people are being taught to exalt themselves in the name of Christ. They are being taught to walk in the flesh rather than the Spirit of God. Instead of walking with Christ, they trample Him underfoot and use Him as a foothold to gain their own higher ground.

The TBN’ites are doing nothing more than dressing the old-man up in “religious terminology”. They are doing what the serpent did to Eve in Eden; they are making the flesh, which Satan was about to father there look attractive, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil appear appealing.

There has been a major paradigm shift in the past 50 years or so that has taken place. This shift that has taken place is simply that now the Gospel we so often hear is self-centered rather than Christ centered. Instead of the Cross for the eternally lost we have another cross for personal gain.

“1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.

2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.” 1 Cor. 2:1-2.

Today, for the most part, we are getting verse one here rather than verse two.

Because of this “excellency of speech or of wisdom” by man, we are most often not getting “Jesus Christ, and him crucified.”

“17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.” Rom. 16:17-18.

When Paul says here, “and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.” This is exactly what is happening through TBN and those of that sort. With their good words and fair speeches they are deceiving the hearts of the simple. This is especially true and taking place among young Christians. But again, there are many older ones who are falling for this self-centered “gospel” too. To them I would say this.

“12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” Heb. 5:12-14.

Nevertheless, with their cleverly contrived words and speeches they are deceiving the simple. The Greek word for “simple” here means those who are unsuspecting, that is that they are too trusting and not really aware that there are those who are out there to deceive them.

You young Christians who are not studying God’s Word the way you ought to be doing are quite often falling prey to these wolves in sheep’s clothing because you are “too trusting” and you do not realize what is going on.

I urge you to study the Word of God to hear what He is truly saying today for Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and for ever. Jesus has not changed one jot or tittle for He is immutable, eternally unchanging.

Not only is He unchangable within Himself, but He cannot be changed by another. The change we see taking place is man’s changing and drifting away from the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. “Once” delivered, this “once” means that the faith was given once and for all time, nothing can be added to it and nothing can be taken from it. In other words, “It Is Finished”.

    Always remember this my friends:

“24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:

25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.” 1 Peter 1:24-25.

And “The Faith”, “the word which by the gospel is preached unto you”, is found only in God’s Word, The Holy Bible, i.e. “The Sanctified Book” and no other place besides. Unless of course, that place, agrees with this place.

We must test all things in the light of God’s Word. If it does not line up with God’s written Word, then it is not a word from God no matter how fair the speeches or good the words may sound.

If you want to be taught how to fulfill the desires of flesh then continue to follow those on TBN like a Paula White. But, if you truly want to walk in God’s Spirit then follow Him according to His Word alone, as it is written for us to do.

I know “Christians” who do not even open a Bible. I for the life of me cannot understand this. I mean, if one truly believes that the Bible is God’s inspired, infallible, inerrant Word, then how could they possibly stay away from it? Like I said, for the life of me I cannot understand how anyone who names the name of Christ does not diligently study God’s Word.

Personally, I cannot find enough hours in the day here to quench my thirst for God and His Word. I long for the day in which I step into eternity to forever be with Him when the thirsting will be over and the feasting begins. Glory to His Holy Name.

I write this little letter with the hopes that it would encourage young and old Christians a like to diligently study God’s Word and truly get to know Him alone above all others.

I write with the hopes that I might encourage you to be lovers of God rather than lovers of men and self as those on TBN are.

Do not be afraid to go against the tide that is carrying so many adrift. I guarantee you, for we have God’s Word on it, that if you follow God according to His Word alone, you will be blessed with a relationship with Him that is far above anything that this world’s gain can give you.

Exalt Christ now in your hearts here on earth, for He is the only exalted One in eternity.

In closing here, God’s Word sums up in a few words what I have been saying with many, and He does it so much better than I ever could.

“15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” 1 John 2:15-17.

    “14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.” Eph. 4:14-16.

  19. Timothy,

    Well said Brother.

  20. Hey Phil,

Thank you for your kind words.

You are the owner of this site here correct? I think you are and if this is in fact right, then thank you for the work you are doing in this area of exposing these “profits”.

It is really sad at what they do to the Cross of Christ. I truly pray for their repentance for God does not take lightly what they are doing.

But, I fear as you, as I think it was you who said, that these types have their hearts so hardened that they are more than likely beyond any thought of repentance.

The only one who I have heard about who has possibly truly repented of the false “health & wealth” gospel is Jim Baker of the old “PTL Club”. And look at what he had to go through to have his eyes opened to what he was doing. I might add too that this does not mean that I agree with all of Baker’s theology per se. But like I said, from what I have heard about him in recent years, he does seem to have at least forsaken the “health & wealth” gospel.

I don’t know about you here Phil, but I really have to look to the Lord to control my anger, more of a righteous indignation, when it comes to dealing with these heretics.

It really disturbs me how these people are allowing Satan to work through them in his work of desecrating the Cross of Christ for their own worldly gain. I am truly concerned at how these heretics lead so many astray and how they give the “world” a chance to mock the Cross on which Christ died for them, i.e. for the world which God so loved.

Nevertheless, I think that there are saved people who have gotten themselves entangled in the snare of the enemy through following these heretics.

I myself came out of the “Charismatic Movement (CM)” many years ago. When I was first saved I became involved with them for they were basically the first “Christian” people that I ran into. Unfortunately, these people (I’m talking about those who follow these heretics) for the most part are quite shallow while at the same time many of them think that they are the most spiritual people to have ever walked God’s creation.

I remember some years ago at a Bible study here at my place a friend of mine brought this woman to the meeting. She was a big Benny Hinn fan, knew all about him. But, when it came time to begin the study, I said, “okay, let’s turn to Genesis” for that is where I was teaching from that night. Well, and this is hard to believe, but this woman actually didn’t even know where Genesis was, she had to be shown. Like I said, she knew a lot about Hinn and those like him but somehow didn’t even know where Genesis is. How sad is that?

One of the major problems with people in the CM, like this woman had, is that they are looking to have a “fresh-word” of God spoken to them by these self-proclaimed and most assuredly false-prophets. Because of this they, at least many of them, do not see much of a need to study God’s Word.

It would seem to me that in order for one to have, or need a “fresh word” from God then that would imply that they have exhausted the knowledge of God’s Written Word first; or else why the need for this “fresh word”?

Now, I have asked some in CM if they understand all that God has written for us in the Bible and of course they admit they do not. So, I ask them, then why would God give some “fresh word” when you do not even understand all of the “old Word”, so to speak.

At this point they just look at me, with this kind of blank stare, not knowing how to respond. It’s really sad when a simple question can throw their whole way of thinking into disarray.

Another issue here that is along the same lines is I believe that they confuse “relationship” with “revelation”.

In other words, Christians all have, or at least we should have anyway, our own personal relationship with God through and in Jesus Christ. But, none of us have our own personal “revelation” of God. The CM confuses the two here as if the Scriptures have this to say to you and that to say to me in the same verse. In other words, the CM people have a tendency to use terminology like “this is what God showed me”, from which comes little more than confusion and men doing that which is right in their own eyes.

The problem here is that God’s Word means only one thing, i.e. a verse does not mean this to you and another thing to me, although the application might be different the meaning is not. If you and I read the same verse and you say it is black and I say that it is white then either you are wrong, I am wrong, or we are both wrong, but one thing is for sure we both cannot be right for a thing cannot be and not be at the same time.

There is only one living revelation of God to man and that is Jesus Christ God incarnate; and one written and that is the Bible (of course creation and conscience are relevant too but not the point here), and both of these revelations are made known unto us by the Holy Spirit.

Our “relationship” with God varies from person to person, of course, because we are all individuals with our own personalities etc. But, the “revelation” of God never varies simply because He is immutable.

Like I said, the CM confuses the two quite often and that is why there is so much confusion among them.

Just a few of my thoughts here about some of the problems going on in the CM, other than the obvious things such as the self-centeredness of it all.

Again Phil, thank you for your kind words.

  21. Hi Timothy,

Jim Bakker might not preach prosperity, but he has folks like Joyce Meyer, Paula White, Creflo Dollar and Mike Murdock on his show so I’m not sure just where he stands.

I don’t get angry about what goes on….I used to but it doesn’t make sense to become angry over what we have no control over. Instead, I just keep exposing, praying and warning.

Thanks for your post and I hope to see more of your comments!

  22. Hey Phil,

I wasn’t aware that Baker still rubs elbows with these people. That is not good and certainly does now make me wonder just how sincere he is in turning away from the health and wealth heresies.

You are correct of course, getting angry solves nothing. Hopefully there will be a few who listen to the truth about these heretics.

  23. It’s unfortunate that they brush over scriptures regarding how believers should not desire the goods of this world. If they are filled with the Spirit, I doubt it would guide them to buy a multi-million dollar house, jets and plane. Instead, they would allocate a higher percentage of tithes to help those who are less fortunate.

You are correct how God didn’t call women to be pastors (1 Timothy 2:15). It took me a while to accept it. I realized how easy it us for society to influence what women’s role (even a pastor’s role) within a church should be. Unfortunately, it’s becoming more rare to find churches, in America, who adhere to the word.

  24. Hi Paul, welcome to Theology Today!

They do give to the poor…..just ask them. They also seem to be spending quite a bit of the money on cars, houses, clothes and airplanes as well.

Good Bible based Churches are out there….just really hard to find. Hopefully you are either in one or will find one in your area!

    We’ll be praying for you!

  25. I cant believe that many of you actualyy are spending alot of precious time judging Paula Whie and other prechers. You are not God.The best you can do in this situation is to pray that God actualyy shows you the right path and I do support whoever said we should pray for Paula White. Its the xtian thing to do.Pray for all those going through a hard time.Jesus forgave those that crucified him on the cross.Pray that God shows us what is right and he brings up men and women of God that will lead people to God.Plus another vthing that u people are forgrting is the fact that the devil wouldnt be attacking anyone that isnt causing chaos in his kingdom. If satan tried to test Jesus Himself, who is PaULA wHITE NOT TO BE TESTED?Pray for her instaed of judging.

Phil: Hi Joan, welcome to Theology Today!

Tested? Well, if she were truly being “tested” then she has failed on multiple levels. She blasphemes Jesus and Paul….she’s divorced….twice. She leads her followers into a ditch….yea, I’d say she failed the test.We are supposed to judge other Christians (notice I spelled the whole word) and based on God’s Word, Paula is a heretic.
